Dan Swana is based in Manchester and London and has been since the turn of the millennium, when he moved up from London.

Beginning piano lessons at the age of five, he went on to study the cello, double bass and church organ at Westminster Under School, where he now teaches Music Technology. Dan is also a highly acclaimed singer, having trained at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey.

On his Gap Year, Dan became an Assistant Musical Director of the National Youth Music Theatre, and sung as a soloist in Buckingham Palace and Wembley Arena including performances for George Martin and Nelson Mandela.
In 2001, Dan began studying Jazz and Classical Double Bass at the Royal Northern College of Music. Whilst at college, he was a member of 6pac jazz sextet and received a prestigious Gold Medal Award.

As a teacher, he has also been the Director of Musical Theatre & Gospel Choir at the European Youth Summer Music course for the last four years.

Dan currently plays keyboards for Swing Out Sister, as well as being a freelance pianist and bass player. With Swing Out Sister, he has toured America and Japan in the last year.
